Renovations: Week Thirteen

Technically it is week fourteen, but we had the festive break so in the timescale of the renovation works it is week thirteen.

Quiet start to the week with the bank holiday but then Wednesday the lovely and always smiling Tom the carpenter/kitchen fitter arrived and he has been with us for the rest of the week. Fitting the last bits of skirting board, kick boards on the kitchen, boxing in pipes and have a battle with the integrated dishwasher. It required more space at the back than we had so he worked some jiggery pokery magic and it all now fits. He has also started preparation work for the fitted units/cupboards/shelving under our stairs, it will be a palace that any Harry Potter would want to live in.

Karl and Richard the painting crew arrived on Thursday and have made a start on the study. The colour has gone up on the walls, chosen by Pete, it looks like a tart's boudoir but in a good way, it is a really pretty colour.

Dan the boss man made a routine check this week to catch up and brought his right hand man Louis with him who made a check list of things that need to be done and finished up. We also talked through plans for the patio and garden, which is very exciting.

Next week we have back splash tiles going up!
