When my memory prompts me to write a 'dear diary' a lot of prompts go through my mind, then when I come to actually write it my mind goes blank. Hopefully I have remembered everything!
When Authors Meet
Yesterday I travelled to Guildford to meet up with the very lovely fellow author, Jane Meredith. Jane has been visiting the UK from her homeland of Australia and she put out the invite to me to meet up and of course I accepted. We had a wonderful day wandering around Guildford, having lunch and visiting the castle. Many laughs and much conversation were had. Jane as a unique ability of making me think about my words and actions (in a good way), I came away with lots to ponder about. Take a look at Jane's website as she not only has some wonderful books but she has also launched her Dark Goddess course online https://www.janemeredith.com/odc
'Spiritual Charlie's Angels'
We recently launched our unique triad online readings where you can get a reading from all three of the Kitchen Witches at once. Ness reads the runes, Heather reads the ogham and her set of bones and I read the tarot - all in one sitting. We were inundated with bookings when we first launched and it was wonderful to connect with people and be able to offer some support and insight. One of our first reviews called us the 'spiritual Charlie's Angels' which made us laugh, and argue about who was Farrah Fawcett. If you fancy a reading you can find the details in our online shop https://www.kitchenwitchhearth.net/shop
Dragon Power Explodes!
The end of June saw the release of my latest book, Pagan Portals Dragon Magic and I was absolutely blown away by the response. The book not only sold well in the first few days but surpassed the first sales target. Myself and Keith the fire dragon are incredibly grateful and humbled.
Sssh Secret Hoard Alert
We produced a limited edition dragon hoard to celebrate the publication of Dragon Magic and they sold out within a few hours. So...we decided to do a similar hoard for the release of Pagan Portals Sulis, which is due out at the end of September. There will also be a free online workshop as well. We haven't formally announced it yet, but the hoard is available to pre-order from the online shop now.
Two Screen Techie
For the past couple of years my husband has worked from home and has sat opposite me in our home office. He has two computer screens (he does clever graphic stuff). Up until last week I only had one screen. Until I was juggling notes on paper, Zoom and a Powerpoint presentation for an online workshop, and he suggested I get a second screen. Why had we not thought of that before? Now, I don't consider myself to be a complete tech wizard, but I am not completely tech illiterate either. New shiny second screen was ordered and delivered with the simple 'plug and play' instructions. Did it plug and play? Did it heck! I spent an entire afternoon trying different cables and updating drivers to no avail. Thankfully hubby's computer whiz brother came to my rescue and confirmed that it wasn't me being an idiot (phew). He stole a cable from the back of our TV/X box and it worked straight away. Long story short I now have two screens which is not only useful for running workshops but also for when I am writing. I can have the manuscript on one screen and resources/reference material open on the other screen. It reminds me of the late, great author Terry Pratchett who had a six screen set up for writing (photo below of his desk set up from the Pratchett Exhibition). I don't think I need go that far.
Freaky Fridays
Back when I began my weekly live chat online I started on a Friday morning, then I had to change it to Wednesdays, but now I am back on a Friday! Catch me Friday mornings at 9am UK time for the usual shenanigans.
Coming up
Myself, Ness and Heather have a few events happening in the near future, a couple of Kitchen Witch online rituals, an online workshop, workshops at Raw Eden and Crystal Wicca and we will be at the Wight Raven festival and the Witchfest Pagan Gathering. Check the events pages on the websites for more details or sign up for the Kitchen Witch newsletter to be kept in the loop.
Thank you as always for your continued support, it means the world to us.
