Chocolate and brown sugar come together in perfect yumminess.
225g/8 oz plain/all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch salt
170g/6 oz butter
125g/4.4 oz dark brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
30g/1 oz white sugar
150g/5.3 oz chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350F/180C/Gas 4.
Line a couple of baking sheets with baking parchment.
Beat the brown sugar and butter together until light and fluffy, this takes a few minutes.
Slowly beat in the eggs, vanilla extract, salt and baking powder.
Gradually add in the flour.
Mix until combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Put the white sugar in a small bowl. Scoop out a tablespoon of the dough and roll into a ball, then roll the ball in the white sugar. Pop the ball onto the baking sheet.
Press the ball slightly flatter with the base of a drinking glass.
Space the cookie dough apart as it will spread.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
